This workshop is for students who are NOT participating in the stock pitch competition. This workshop is good preparation for a student who is beyond the beginner level but is not yet ready for the stock pitch competition. If you want to dive into stocks and be prepared for the stock pitch competition next year, this is the workshop for you!
Before the workshop, students will receive pre-selected stocks to explore. When they arrive, they’ll put on their “investor hats” and decide whether each stock is a Buy, Sell, or Hold—and why. Students can compete solo or team up with friends to build their case.
Using only publicly available information (company news, financials, trends, or anything else they can find), students will defend their picks in short, fast-paced discussions. Expect lively debate, different perspectives, and plenty of “Would you actually invest in that?” moments.
The goal is to make investing feel approachable and exciting while giving students a taste of how real investors—and stock pitch competitors—think, analyze, and persuade.
